Omar Hamze, MD, FASN, FACP
Dr. Hamze received his Medical Degree from the American University of Beirut in 1997. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and was Chief Resident at Union Memorial Hospital – University of Maryland. He also completed his Nephrology fellowship at The University of Maryland and is board certified in Nephrology.
Dr. Hamze, founder of Kidney Care Consultants in 2008, has been practicing Nephrology since 2004. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and the American College of Physicians. He has been voted as one of the Midsouth's "Top Docs" in Nephrology for the past 4 years. This is an honor bestowed upon him by his peers.
Rehan Shafique, MD, FASN
Dr. Shafique received his Medical Degree at the King Edward Medical College in Lahore. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He also completed a fellowship in Transplant Nephrology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He is board-certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Shafique joined Kidney Care Consultants in 2011. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.
Minesh Pathak, MD
Dr. Pathak received his Medical Degree at Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica, WI and New York, NY. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA, and completed his Nephrology fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS. He is board-certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Pathak has been practicing Nephrology since 2008 and joined Kidney Care Consultants in 2012.
Mark Nader, MD
Dr. Nader received his Medical Degree at the University of Balamand in Lebanon. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY and his Nephrology and Hypertension fellowship at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He is board-certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Nader joined Kidney Care Consultants in 2015 and has been practicing Nephrology since.
Vijaya Gorantla, MD
Dr. Gorantla received his Medical Degree from JJM Medical College, India. He completed his Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency and Fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Nephrology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
Dr. Gorantla joined Kidney Care Consultants in 2019.
Karen Kimbley Reames, ANP
Ms. Reames completed her Masters of Sciences in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN in August 2009. Ms. Reames has been with Kidney Care Consultants working as a Nurse Practitioner since then.
Dorothy Alexander, NP
Ms. Alexander completed her Masters of Sciences in Nursing from Arkansas State University in 1999 in Jonesboro, AR. Ms. Alexander has been working with patients who have kidney diseases since 2003 and joined Kidney Care Consultants in 2015.
Ms. White NP
Ms. White graduated from UT College of Health Sciences with her Master's Degree in 2008. Since then she has worked as a nurse practitioner in the fields of cardiology, hematology/oncology and nephrology.
Ford Kristi, NP
Kristi Ford completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN in May 2019. Ms. Ford has been with Kidney Care Consultants working as a Nurse Practitioner since then.
